Top Five Daytrips from Orlando

Sometimes it helps to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a day trip away from Orlando. Luckily for you, we have brought together the top five-day trips away from Orlando that will ensure your family finally has some quality time away from the city.

Kennedy Space Center

Home to NASA here in Florida, the Kennedy Space Center has been used as a launchpad for NASA since its inception in the 1960s. The center itself is still used as one of the foremost launching pads for NASA rockets, and if you are lucky, you might be able to time your visit with lunch itself. You can also visit the museum where there are several rockets and memorabilia from famous launches. Make sure to book ahead and save some big money on your visit!

Clearwater Beach

Kennedy Space Center

Known as one of the top beach destinations in the state, Clearwater Beach is a gorgeous white sand beach on the edge of the ocean. With several great food and drink options all along the beach, you will find something that all the kids will enjoy. Plus, with the possibility of renting bodyboards and even beach umbrellas, you will not have to worry about packing all of the beach gear. If you are looking for something special, you can even rent a jet boat or head out for a fishing charter for some deep-water fishing.

From the great food to the amazing dancing, Miami is one of the top spots for a quick trip for a night. The Cuban community has certainly taken over in this city, and the nights are filled with love and salsa. If you are a fan of major sports, you can check out a Dolphins, Heat, Marlins or Panthers game. Plus, it is always worth taking a walking tour through the downtown core to see some of the histories and experience some of the local’s top spots to enjoy some grub and great drinks.

Weeki Wachee Springs State Park

As the traditional place to witness Old Florida, Weeki Wachee is a gorgeous state park. The park itself is famous for two things, first, the underwater theatre and secondly, the mermaid shows. With its 72-degree crystal clear water, this state park is perfect for a day filled with swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. Make sure to take advantage of the onsite water park that has flume rides and a vast collection of water slides for all ages.

Mount Dora

Located just 40 minutes north of Orlando, Mount Dora is one of Florida’s small-town gems. The infamous Renninger’s Antique Center and Farmer’s Flea Market is located right in the heart of Mount Dora, and you might even leave with a vintage treasure that you can take home. With breweries, toy shops, art galleries and wineries around the town, you might never want to leave Mount Dora!

Florida has a lot to offer, and sometimes it just takes a day trip to get a once in a lifetime experience!
